A Good Book Or Photo Can Paint A Thousand Words

I was on my way to the care home just near Oxford when I remembered a mention of the area in a novel I had just got in to.  It is based in that area – a crime novel involving a suspicious death of a young man in a canal.   The description of working colleagues and the pressures of having to deal with senior reporting officers seems very well put together – as if they have personal experience.  As an aside, there is an enquiry going on by a separate force into the dealings of an officer’s late husband. This book is liiterally a picture painted in words.  For someone housebound and not mobile another way to do this is with photography.  Having a professional take a series of photos of a particularly favourite spot, or of family celebrations to which they can’t attend.  These pictures will be appreciated and treasured for their beauty and skill.
